As to the award of damages, we affirm the award of P30,000 as exemplary damages being in conformity with prevailing jurisprudence. We deem it proper, however, to adjust the award of civil indemnity and moral damages to P75,000 in line with recent jurisprudence involving convictions for murder.[25]
