| In the past, this Court has liberally granted benefits to surviving heirs of deceased members of the Judiciary despite incomplete compliance with the requisites of Republic Act No. 910.[29] Since there was a gap in the law, this Court's Resolution dated September 30, 2003 in Re: Resolution Granting Permanent Total Disability Benefits to Heirs of Justices and Judges Who Die In Actual Service provided for benefits of judges and justices who died in actual service but were not able to comply with the age and service requirements stated in Republic Act No. 910.[30] This Resolution was incorporated in Republic Act No. 9946. | |||||
