| There is thus no impediment in affirming the sentence of reclusion perpetua on appellants for each count of rape. Likewise, the award of civil indemnity of P50,000.00 and moral damages in the amount of P50,000.00 each for the two (2) counts of rape is proper for victims of simple rape in accordance with prevailing jurisprudence.[33] | |||||
