| The general rule is that factual findings of trial courts, like their assessments of the credibility of witnesses, are accorded respect and even finality.[26] After poring over the records of the case, we are convinced that the lower court did not err in holding that appellant had killed the victim with the use of a single-bladed knife. We are likewise convinced that alevosia or treachery qualified the killing to murder. | |||||
