In the recent ABC (Alliance for Barangay Concerns) Party-List v. COMELEC,[34] the Court reiterated that Section 6 of R.A. No. 7941 validates the authority of the COMELEC, not only to register political parties, organizations or coalitions, but also to cancel their registration based on the same legal grounds.  Such authority emanates from no less than Section 2(5), Article IX-C of the Constitution, which states: Sec. 2.
